Keep reading to find out how these two impressive crossovers compare. Then, browse our new Honda inventory for pricing and availability for the 2022 HR-V.

2022 Honda HR-V vs 2022 Toyota C-HR Exterior

The Honda HR-V doesn't have to be overly flashy to get passerby's attention. It features newly designed 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and sleek curves and lines that give it an attractive appearance. It boasts a sporty gloss black lower garnish and a black chrome honeycomb pattern front grille. Other features include a body-coloured rear roofline spoiler, LED brake lights, automatic projector-beam halogen headlights, and front and rear splash guards. Available features include a one-touch power moonroof, rain-sensing wipers, and LED headlights and fog lights.

The Toyota CH-R boasts an attractive exterior design, but it doesn't compare to the classy yet handsome design and exterior features that the HR-V showcases. The C-HR does not offer desirable features that the HR-V does, including a sunroof/moonroof, rain-sensing wipers, LED brake lights, or standard 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

2022 Honda HR-V vs 2022 Toyota C-HR Interior

The interior of the HR-V is classy and well-made, with quality materials and features throughout. It comes standard with automatic climate control, air filtration, remote keyless entry, steering wheel-mounted cruise control, and heated front seats. Available features include leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a proximity key entry system with a pushbutton start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone climate control, and active noise cancellation. Connectivity and entertainment come in the form of a 7-inch display audio system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and available SiriusXM, navigation, and HD Radio.

The interior of the Toyota C-HR is sub-par compared to its crossover competitor. For one, heated front seats are not standard, and the C-HR does not offer an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an air filtration system, or active noise cancellation. The Honda HR-V also has noticeably more overall passenger and cargo volume in comparison to the C-HR.

2022 Honda HR-V vs 2022 Toyota C-HR Performance

The Honda HR-V is built with a 1.8-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and comes standard with front-wheel drive. Real-Time All-Wheel Drive (AWD) with Intelligent Control System is available on lower models and comes standard on premium models.

The Toyota C-HR is built with a 144-horsepower 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a CVT. The C-HR is only offered with front-wheel drive. Although the Honda HR-V has slightly less horsepower, it makes up for it with its all-wheel-drive option and better fuel economy. The FWD version of the HR-V has a fuel economy of 8.4 L/100 km in the city and 7.0 L/100 km on the highway, whereas the Toyota C-HR has a fuel economy of 8.7 L/100 km in the city and 7.5 L/100 km on the highway.

2022 Honda HR-V vs 2022 Toyota C-HR Safety

Both vehicles come with a suite of brand-specific safety features. The Honda HR-V comes standard across all trim levels with Honda Sensing technologies, and the Toyota C-HR comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. Both vehicles boast safety and driver-assist features such as adaptive cruise control, a collision mitigation system, lane departure assist, vehicle stability assist with traction control, and available blind-spot monitoring.
