TERMS COVERED

For a period of 3 years,* commencing from the date the vehicle was first registered, Honda Plus Roadside Assistance will automatically provide you roadside coverage to minimize inconvenience resulting from unforeseen mechanical breakdowns, lockouts and accidents.
*Fit covered for 5 years.

WHAT IT COVERS

The following services are provided under the Honda Plus Roadside Assistance program:

  1. Emergency Roadside Service
    Emergency roadside assistance will be dispatched if your vehicle`s battery requires boosting, if you need help changing a flat tire, or if you need gas delivered to your stranded vehicle. if gas delivery is required, the cost of up to five liters of regular unleaded gas will be included with this service. In the event alternative service is provided, Honda Plus will reimburse you up to a maximum of $100 per incident, provided you called for prior approval.
  2. Emergency Lockout Service
    If you lose, break or lock your keys in the vehicle and are unable to gain access to your vehicle, Honda Plus Roadside Assistance will dispatch an authorized service contractor or transport the vehicle to the nearest authorized Honda dealership. In the even that new keys are required you will be responsible for the cost of the keys. If you incur expenses in seeking help yourself, Honda Plus Roadside Assistance will reimburse you up to a maximum of $100 by simply calling Honda Plus for prior authorization.
  3. Winching Service**
    Honda Plus will arrange for service and pay up to $100 per incident when your Honda requires winching. your vehicle must be accessible and located on or adjacent to a regularly traveled road. Additionally, roads, driveways, sidewalks and parking lots must be cleared and plowed for service to be provided and, once removed, your vehicle can proceed under its own power.

    **Any winching services required are considered a recovery service. Servicing facilities will take every step possible to avoid incurring additional damage to the vehicle. however, if after the recovery has been performed and damage is identified, the facility will not be held liable or accountable. Any such claim should be reported through your vehicle insurance provider.

  4. Mechanical Breakdown Towing
    (Limit: 300 km from breakdown site)
    Honda Plus Roadside Assistance services will arrange to have your vehicle towed from the breakdown site to your preferred Honda dealer within 100 km or to the nearest Honda dealer within 300 km. If distance and the nature of the repair make towing to a Honda dealership impractical, simply call us for authorization to seek alternate service and we will reimburse you up to $250 for towing.
  5. Emergency Transportation
    In the event of a mechanical breakdown less than 100 km from your home, you will reimbursed up to a maximum of $100 for commercial transportation (taxi, bus or train) to take you to your destination and/or back to the Honda dealer.
  6. Trip Interruption Benefits
    In the event of a mechanical breakdown more than 100 km from your home, the benefit entitlements are:
    • Emergency accommodation and meals,
    • Car rental or commercial transportation (taxi, bus or train) to your destination and return to the repair site

    A limit of $500 per incident applies to mechanical breakdowns.

  7. Traffic Accident Services
    Where a breakdown results from an accident less than 100 km from home, Honda Plus Roadside Assistance will arrange to have your vehicle towed from the accident site to your preferred Honda dealer within 100 km or to the nearest Honda dealer within 300 km.

    Reimbursement for:

    • Towing charges up to a maximum of $250 per incident.

    Where a breakdown results from an accident more than 100 km from home, Honda Plus Roadside Assistance will arrange to have your vehicle towed from the accident site to your preferred Honda dealer within 100 km or to the nearest Honda dealer within 300 km.

    Reimbursement for:

    • Towing charges to the nearest Honda dealer or other authorized service establishments,
    • Car rental or commercial transportation (taxi, bus or train) for you and all passengers from the accident to your destination or home,
    • Hotel accommodations and meals should you stay at the repair site while your vehicle is being repaired,
    • Return of passenger(s) to their home(s) or to their destination(s) in the event you are hospitalized as a result of the accident,
    • Maximum of $500 reimbursement per incident or breakdowns resulting from accidents.

    NOTE: Traffic accident benefits are provided only when not covered by any insurance. A letter from the insurance company confirming benefits not covered is required.

  8. Emergency Message Service
    Should an emergency arise with respect to you and your vehicle, Honda Plus Roadside Assistance will make a reasonable effort to get a message to family, friends or business associates, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, anywhere in Canada or the continental U.S.
  9. Dealer Locator Service
    When necessary, Honda Plus Roadside Assistance will provide the Driver with the exact location and phone number of the nearest Honda dealer anywhere in Canada or the continental united States that will enable the Driver to locate original parts and qualified Honda service.

HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE

Should you require any of our emergency road services, simply call 1-800-465-PLUS (7587) for necessary approval. You should provide the Honda Service Counsellor with a brief description of your vehicle, including the model, license plate number, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) (this number can be found by looking through the driver's side of your windshield at the bottom left-hand corner of the dashboard), your vehicle's location and the nature of the difficulty / problem.

HOW TO CLAIM HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

In the event you incur any cost for services, as previously described, you may request reimbursement by following the steps outlined below:

  1. Contact Honda Plus Roadside Assistance within thirty (30) days of the date of a breakdown or accident,
  2. Indicate the cause and location of the breakdown or accident. The original towing bill and detailed repair bill must accompany towing claims,
  3. Enclose the original invoice(s) that indicate the cost incurred for lodging, meals, commercial transportation, battery boost or lockout service, and the police report if the service(s) relate(s) to an accident. Alterations on bills will render claims invalid.

    NOTE: Reimbursement applies only to expenses incurred within seventy-two (72) hours from the time your vehicle has a breakdown or accident. Accommodation / Meal expenses must be incurred within the vicinity of the breakdown.

HONDA PLUS ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CONDITIONS

  1. All service operators providing services are independent contractors and are not employees of Honda Plus Roadside Assistance. Therefore, the Honda Plus Roadside Assistance program cannot and does not assume liability or responsibility for any loss or damage howsoever caused to your vehicle or to any of your personal property resulting from the rendering of such service.
  2. Any loss or damage is the sole responsibility of the servicing facility and you should report it to the proprietor of the facility, your own insurance company and Honda Plus within twenty-four (24) hours and prior to any repairs being carried out
  3. Only the original receipts and/or charge copies submitted by you will be accepted for consideration for reimbursement. Originals will be returned upon request.
  4. Honda Plus Roadside Assistance reserves the right to decline any claim presented for payment later than thirty (30) days from the date the service(s) was/were performed and not in conformity with the conditions as stated herein
  5. Ferry fees, wait times and toll charges are covered by Honda Plus Roadside Assistance
  6. All reimbursements are provided in Canadian funds
  7. Honda Plus Roadside Assistance is designed fundamentally for use in Canada and only covers emergencies when traveling in the continental U.S.
  8. Honda Plus Roadside Assistance covers the registered vehicle, the owner of the vehicle, and any authorized driver of the vehicle
  9. Honda Plus Roadside Assistance is subject to change without notice

EXCLUSIONS

Honda Plus Roadside Assistance is not a warranty, but a service provided to you as part of Honda's commitment to minimize unforeseen vehicle operation inconvenience.

Honda Plus Roadside Assistance, as described in this document, will not be provided under the following circumstances:

  1. Where there is any indication at the time of the traffic accident or incident that you were committing or attempting to commit an offense
  2. Where the vehicle does not have license plate(s) and/or is not covered by Public Liability and Property Damage automobile insurance
  3. Off-road towing where it is not possible to access your vehicle. The vehicle must be accessible by the tow facility and located on or adjacent to, a regularly traveled roadway. Regularly traveled roadways do not include ice roads, beaches, recreational areas, construction sites, open fields, oil fields, oil rigs, logging camps, mining roads and private roads.
  4. Trailers, boats or any other item being towed by your Honda vehicle are not covered
  5. Honda Plus does not cover the cost of rental insurance, drop-off fees, damage waiver or additional kilometers
  6. Honda Plus Roadside Assistance does not cover vandalism, stolen vehicle, fire destruction or hazardous weather services.

    NOTE: Honda Plus Roadside Assistance does not pay for gasoline (except as outlined in gas delivery services), for replacement keys or for maintenance-related parts, and labor covered under your warranty will be provided by your Honda dealer.
